For this project we targeted different sections of the community in an endeavour to reach as many people as possible. The following projects an workshops took place:

Barton Boogie Barton Bounce: twice weekly sessions of music and movement for toddlers and pre-school children. (This program is to be continued with funding from Youth Music).

Barton Boogie: music projects in Bayswater School which consisted of two orchestral projects, one music and dance project, one music and poetry project, and one intergenerational project involving an elderly group together with children in music, dance and poetry. The photograph shows performers of all ages playing wind instruments of all sizes! (Further funding is being sought to continue this programme).

Barton Beat: OCM equipped a studio at the Youth Centre and ran weekly sessions in DJ-ing and music technology. (Further funding is being sought from Youth Music).

Barton Bards: concerts and projects for the elderly involving music, poetry, dance, remininscence, and an intergenerational project with children from Bayswater School.

Community Music: six community events at St Mary's Church, Barton. These events brought together all sections of the community in a musical celebration and sharing. The Oxford COmpany of Musicians shared their professional skills as performers with young dancers from the local dance class, the Isis Dance Academy; St Mary's Anglican Asian Choir; St Mary's Church Choir; the Oxford Community Choir; and Oxford Bharatnatyam Dance Group, an Indian children's dance troupe. The photograph shows a community event with OCM and the Oxford Community Choir.
